Your Dad will appreciate this Father’s Day Keys & Bits & Bobs Box, that you can gift him for Father’s Day!

Best of all you can use some of your recycling!

Let's craft a Keys and bits & bobs box for Dad!

Father’s Day is sneaking up fast this year, and it’s time to think outside the box for gift ideas that truly stand out. Why settle for the usual when you can craft something unique and personal?

That’s why I’m all about making a DIY Father’s Day keys & bits & bobs box using a good brown packaging box.

WHERE ARE MY KEYS?

It’s a practical idea that tackles the universal dilemma we’ve all faced at some point ‘Where on earth are my keys?

How often have you seen your dad searching for his bits and pieces, or even his car keys? This is where the Bits & Bobs Box would come in really handy!

GIFT DAD A HANDY KEYS & BITS & BOBS BOX!

Think about this: every household has that frantic search for keys. Half the time, we are extracting our steps, contemplating the last time we saw them, and flipping over every cushion on the couch. So, how about giving a solution this Father’s Day?

This is the solution. Dads need a keys & bits & bobs box, where they know where it is. Then they can deposit all their bits and pieces in there.

Don’t you think?

WHAT’S INSIDE THE BITS & BOBS BOX?

Here’s where things get fun. When you open up this box, imagine seeing Dad’s face adorning the inside. It’s quirky, it’s personal, and it’s bound to bring a smile.

MY INTENTION TO RECYCLE!

This project isn’t about solving the lost key mystery; it’s about something heartfelt and functional! Plus, it’s a chance to dive into your creative side, use your recycled materials and create something that truly reflects your dad’s personality and style.

If you are up for a  DIY adventure, then read on for all the juicy material and how to make it happen.

HOW To MAKE A DIY FATHER’S DAY GIFT BOX!

Decorate the outside of the box with some fancy paper or anything you feel would work.

And make sure the words ‘Dad’s keys & bits & bob!’ are at the bottom centre of the box.

It adds that personal touch Dad never thought he needed!

MAKE DADS GIFT BOX PERSONAL!

So, how do we make this Father’s Day Gift Box personal? I thought that when you open it up, inside the lid, there would be a sketch or painting of Dad’s face.

Design it how you like, make it quirky, emphasise certain features, in this case, he has a large flamboyant moustache and large teeth bearing a big smile, and name it something like…Dad’s keys & bits & bobs box!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR BITS & BOBS BOX!

So let’s get down to business. You can make this project as hard or as easy as you like, and your child can put their take on it if they like, or follow my example.

GATHER YOUR RESOURCES.

You would probably have most of these resources and materials already lying around your home.

Look around for a small empty packaging box. That has still got its flaps and can shut down and is decent and in good shape.

HERE’S A QUICK LIST.

You’ll need patterned papers enough to cover the box on the outside, scissors, and glue. Flesh-coloured paint and a black marker to draw features, or a large picture of your dad!

  • Hold onto packaging boxes that have a good open and shut lid, and are not damaged when being opened.

     PRACTICE DRAWING
  • Trial run the drawing of your dad’s face on paper until you have what resembles him, then copy a similar image onto the inside of the box lid.

     RUB OUT AND RE-DRAW.
  • Rub out mistakes, or improve drawing by rubbing out and re-drawing.

  • Don’t worry if the box has markings or text on it; this will be covered up with the patterned paper.
     GET IT RIGHT FIRST.
  • Finally, practice writing Dad’s gift box message ..’ Dad’s keys & bits & bobs box’ with felt-tip pens, and when you are ready stick onto the base of the box with the glue stick.

WHY WE MISPLACE OUR KEYS!

Ever wondered why we misplace items like keys so often? It’s like the unpredictability of life. A dedicated spot for keys can reduce those little frustrations, making everyday routines run more smoothly. It’s a small change, but it feels like a victory every time. Dad’s keys are right where they should be, in Dad’s Keys & Bits & Bobs box!

WHAT’S THE CONNECTION WITH FATHER’S DAY?

Speaking of connections, Father’s Day is more than just a date on the calendar. It’s the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the bonds between generations.

Crafting a personalised keys & bits & bobs box isn’t just about solving a practical problem; it’s creating a solution to sorting out the never-ending ‘Where’s My Keys’ and a central place for Dad to chuck his bits & bobs in!

LET’S EXPRESS CREATIVITY!

The Father’s Day Keys & bits & bobs box is about a heartfelt expression. It’s also a project that combines creativity and functionality. Giving Dad something special to leave that smile on his face!

WHAT DAD LIKES!

Consider what makes your Dad unique. Is he a sports fan? Maybe add his team colours, or is he a music lover, add music symbols or images of his favourite band, might be a hit one day!

WHERE TO ADD.

These images will be applied on top of or at the sides and back of the box, apart from his face, which will be within the inside of the package lid.
